The more advanced a country is characterized by per capita income, the greater the budget spent on social contests. If we want to become a modern country, that’s the direction. The higher the public budget allocated for social events, the poverty will certainly be lower and will definitely be lower.
Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest in the world. So it makes us more serious in dealing with social shopping programs. Indonesia is vulnerable. Poverty in Indonesia is relatively small, below 10%, but in my opinion the standard does not really represent the condition of the group we are in. We are actually already middle to upper income. This makes us seem satisfied not only with the national but also regional contexts. Regional leaders are one of the main drivers. If they are satisfied with low poverty, I don’t think it’s an ideal condition. And the proof is that when there is a crisis like this, people seem shocked because of small poverty but many people ask for help, one of which maybe we all feel fine. In addition, with regard to social competitions, we are relatively small in terms of the budget spent on social competitions which is among the lowest in the relevant comparison countries. In addition to the agenda to improve the system, of course we also have to improve politics so that we can also spend a bigger budget for it.
