Diding Sakri

Diding Sakri is a full-time PhD student at King’s International Development Institute  sponsored by Indonesia Education Endowment Fund through its Indonesia Presidential Scholarship Program. He is conducting his PhD research on the topic of Inequality of Opportunity and Intergenerational Income Mobility under supervision of Dr. Andy Sumner and Dr. Arief Anshory Yusuf. He holds a Joint European Master of Arts (MA) on Comparative Local Development from Trento University, Italy and Regensburg University, Germany (2011) with Summa cum Laude, under the European Union Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. He has also a Sarjana Teknik (Bachelor of Engineering) degree on Urban and Regional Planning, from Institute Technology of Bandung (2001).

Prior to his being a full time PhD student, he worked for the World Bank as Research Analyst (June 2011-October 2014) in the unit of Poverty Reduction and Economic Management (PREM), and then in the Governance Global Practice (GGP) until June 2015. Throughout his professional life since 2001, he has also provided consultancy service for central and local government of Indonesia (e.g. Bandung Municipality and Bappenas), international NGOs (e.g. The Asia Foundation), international research institute (e.g. RTI), and international development agency (e.g. AusAid/DFAT).
