Dr. Arief Anshory Yusuf, Executive Director of Center of Sustainable Development Goals Studies (SDGs Center) Universitas Padjadjaran has been elected and inaugurated as a member of Indonesian Young Academy of Science or Akademi Ilmuwan Muda Indonesia (ALMI). The inauguration of the 27 new members was held on 19 August 2016 at the residence of Prof. B.J. Habibie in Jakarta. Currently ALMI has 40 members from various disciplines with 11 member representing social sciences and humanities. The members are affiliated with universities and research insitutions across Indonesia.
ALMI is an autonomous body established by the Indonesian Academy of Science or Akademi Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (AIPI) to provide a venue for reputable Indonesian young scientists to develop science, technology and scientific culture in the country. The establishment of ALMI is mandated in the Presidential Decree No 9/2016 on the constitution of the Indonesian Academy of Science (AIPI).
Membership of ALMI is given to Indonesian scientists not older than 45 years old, working in Indonesian research institutions with good record of publications in reputable international journals. UNPAD’s SDGs Center congratulate Dr. Arief Anshory Yusuf for this achievement and wish that the new network of Indonesian young researchers will help Indonesia achieve its sustainable development goals (SDGs).
